A sunny day in Montreal lead to a huge victory for the Canadian Men’s National Team against Peru. The second match against South American opponents in their international break, they showed up for this one. Jacob Shaffleburg scored twice to propel the reds to a comfortable two-nil win.

This result shows a lot for the Canadian program, as only a couple years ago two ties against South American opponents would’ve been seen as a win. To leave the window with two out of two wins is a huge step for the team and the program as a whole.

Where do we go from here? The preferred answer would be up. Canada has now become a footballing nation and has shown they can compete with the big dogs.
Canada looks to face Guatemala on November 16th in the Nations Cup, after a disappointing result in the previous year.
